Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time, with poses designed to apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments and increase circulation in the joints to improve flexibility. This class includes a meditation to cultivate awareness of inner silence and an interconnectedness with body and mind.
